Off Page SEO

So you want to learn off page SEO?

Well the good thing about off page SEO is that it is a lot easier to understand than on page SEO. There are a lot less factors. In short, off page SEO just means anything in relation to search engine optimization that you cannot control and it is "off your page".

It has been said that off page SEO factors are much more important than on page SEO, and that off page SEO accounts for roughly 80% of the search engine optimization of a website!

So what are these off page SEO factors?

In short, off page SEO just involves one thing... BACKLINKS!

So what's so fancy about getting backlinks to your site?

Well my friend, not all links are created equal and in this Off Page SEO guide I'll teach you what you need to understand in order to get you on the first page of the search engines easily without a problem!

Tip 1 - Try and get backlinks from websites with a high Page Rank (PR) - Why does this matter? Well in short, search engines rank your site according to popularity and amount of knowledge. So what does this mean?

Think about this, you know that guy sitting the corner office beside the computer that everyone hates, including the boss, but no one can fire him because he's the only guy that has the knowledge to fix the computer servers?

Well, every time something went wrong with the computer server you would go and ask him how to fix it and he would point you in the right direction... So what does this have to do with off page SEO and backlinks?

Jackson's Course

Well in short, that dude who is knowledgeable would be seen as a site with high PR in relation to a specific topic. So whatever he says about a certain topic would be seen as gold, because he's the only guy that knows how the server works! So if you are able to get a link from a high PR site, well it means you're getting links from someone in their field who knows something about that niche, and thus the links pointing to your site would be of higher value!

Tip 2 - The relevancy of the pages giving you the links - In short the more relevant the other page linking to you, the better it is for the off page SEO effects on your site. But don't get too caught up about this at the moment, because a link is better than no link, regardless of what niche the site that you get your link belongs to at the moment. Also, it has been said that at the moment, the PR of the site is more important than the relevancy of the sites.

Tip 3 - The age of the links - In short, the older the site and the older the links pointing to your site, the better it is for SEO. Don't ask me why, but that's just the way it is.

Tip 4 - The amount of links on the page giving you the backlink - If the site giving you a link has 100 links pointing to other sites, then the link juice you get is a lot less. The reason for this is because the search engines do not like "link farms" (pages that just link to other pages and that provide no real content). So if you are able to get a link from a site, hopefully you're getting them from normal sites and not link farms.

Tip 5 - The amount of links pointing to your site - Did I mention that the internet is like a massive popularity contest? The more people pointing to your site, the more likely you are going to get traffic and the better your search engine rankings will be.

Tip 6 - The anchor text of the link pointing to your site - What is the anchor text? An anchor text is a link with a keyword in that link. Say for example you can link to a page using the page name. For example, you can link to this site using: www.jacksonsmarketingtraining.com .

However, since my main page is targeting the keyword: Make Money Online, it would be better for me if you linked to my main site using this code:

<a href=www.jacksonsmarketingtraining.com>Make Money Online</a>

If you did that you would be creating a link that says "Make Money Online" but if you clicked on it, it would point you to my main page.

This tells the search engines that the link www.jacksonsmarketingtraining.com is actually a page about "make money online" otherwise why else would you have people linking to your page with the keywords "make money online".

Now I hope you have learned a lot about off page SEO. If you want to learn how to get backlinks to your site that:
